How Does Spinal Decompression Function?

The procedure is traction-based, with traction forces applied and released progressively to “trick” the para-spinal muscles into not protecting or spasming.
This produces a negative pressure on the spine that then allows substantial oxygen and nutrients to be carried along by increased blood flow. This makes it possible to pull the protruded or herniated disc back into the usual boundaries of the disc, which enables healing to occur.
