2. Motorcycles are Convenient

A number of studies have shown that you can travel much quicker when riding a motorbike than taking public transport, riding a bicycle or driving a car. One such account by a smart-scooter-commute user showed how he cut his journey time from 40 minutes on a bus, which was roughly the same when he walked, to just 10 minutes on his Vespa Scooter. If this interests you then all you now have to do is decide what you want to do with your extra time. You could Take time to cook a meal when you get home from work, you could go to the gym, Spend quality time with my friends and family or even think about taking up a new hobby!

3. Motorcycles are Fun

Of course the main reason to start riding a motorcycle is that it is enjoyable. While there are myriad of other practical benefits the main reason that most people ride is for the thrill. Perhaps Robert Pirsig said it best in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: “You’re completely in contact with it all. You’re in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.”

4. Motorcycles are much cheaper than other forms of transport

One of the main reasons to consider riding a motorcycle as oppose to driving a car is the simple fact that it is so much cheaper! There is a plethora of research to prove this. A You Gov survey carried out in 2009 revealed that 60 per cent of motorcycle commuters spent less than £10 on their weekly commute. This is particularly true when you compare this to the price of driving a car. In London for example all car drivers have to pay a congestion charge of £5 a day! In London too, parking charges are extraordinarily expensive for cars but only a couple of pounds or even free for bikes. You might be surprised how reasonable bikes, gear or cbt training are. Not to mention the amount you can save on fuel. With some many bikes achieving 60-70 miles per gallon and some scooters pushing 100+ mpg, it’s no wonder so many commuters choose to get to work on two wheels.

5. Motorcycles are Cool

Nobody can deny that motorcycle are the coolest way to get from point A to B! Aside from the fact that many celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Ewan Mcgreggor, Ben Afflec and Bill Bailey are all avid motorcycle enthusiasts, when someone walks into a bar or restaurant with a helmet under arm, they invariably exude a swagger with a sense of cool that one just can’t get from a car or bicycle.
