Marijuana Dispensary Guidelines

Many people are surprised to learn that cannabis offers more relaxation to men than it does to women, particularly at a time when more people are turning to medicinal marijuana for pain relief. Experts at Columbia Medical Center (CUMC) also discovered that men experience more pain relief from weed than women. Checkout dispensaries near me for more info.

The research was presented in the online edition of Drug and Alcohol Dependency in August 2016. “These findings come at a time when more people, mostly women, are turning to medical cannabis for pain relief,” said Ziva Cooper, a CUMC associate professor of clinical neurobiology (in psychiatry) and study chief.

Previous research has shown that cannabis pain relief varies by gender, but human pain relief has yet to be proven. “Preclinical study has shown that perceptions of cannabis-related pain relief can vary between genders,” Dr. Cooper said. “However, no trials have been performed to see whether this is true in humans.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), marijuana remains the most commonly prescribed synthetic substance in the United States, and it is widely exploited by young people. While cannabis usage in middle and high schools has risen over time, the amount of young people who believe marijuana use is harmful has steadily decreased. The likelihood of people turning to marijuana for pain treatment is high.

Marijuana pain management has provided further benefits to people. The researchers looked at evidence from two placebo-controlled, double-blind trials. The analgesic properties of marijuana were investigated by 42 respondents who were occasional marijuana consumers.

Some were given active marijuana to smoke, and others were given placebo marijuana to smoke. The participants were then told to immerse their hands in freezing water until the pain becomes unbearable. The respondents were then given a short pain questionnaire to complete.

Men who smoked active weed showed a substantial decrease in vulnerability and an increase in pain intensity. Women, on the other hand, did not note any noticeable reduction in pain sensitivity, though they did notice a small improvement in pain resistance after consuming active cannabis.
