ClassiCat for Windows is a classical music cataloging program that is both powerful and flexible! With ClassiCat version 2, you can capture and view a wide variety of information on both classical music and classical music recordings. You can construct your own encyclopedia of information on recordings, recording artists, composers, their works, and more. It's features are:

Cataloging

• Catalog recordings, musical compositions, composers, and recording artists, and related information.

• Add your own custom database fields for recordings, compositions, composers, and artists.

• Enter custom notes for recordings, compositions, composers, and recording artists. Notes can be as long or as short as you want, and can contain any information that you want: biographical information, personal observations, liner notes, excerpts from reviews or magazine articles, etc.

• Reporting with print preview and query-like filters. Some examples of what you might do with reports are to track your recording collection's value or maintain a shopping list of recordings that you want to purchase.

• Rate recordings on the basis of sound and performance

• Customize your database - you can change the information that is used to create it. This includes recordings, labels, artists, composers, compositions, instruments, composition genres, composition instrumentation (scores), and standard genre scores.

Ease of use

• Quickly enter and access information through a number of built-in techniques using both the keyboard and the mouse

• With the ClassiCat Import-Export Utility, you can automatically import music information into your ClassiCat database. Files are available for downloading from this web site or you can exchange information with friends. This can save hours of data entry time!

• Clone existing entries to create "templates" for speeding up data entry

• Quickly access forms using the Tool Bar

• View and print recordings and/or musical compositions by composer, composition, recording label, composition genre (opera, symphony, etc.), recording artist, key signature, years of composition, and musical instrument plus combinations of the above (there are 45 views in all).

• Print out 12 customizable reports as well as printing capabilities for all 45 cross-reference views and several other specialized windows.

• Save any document to a file in either HTML or Rich Text Format (rtf) format.
